What I Do
I do web.
I create, manage, and simplify complex online projects. I thrive in digital environments.
I collect numbers.
I analyze user engagement and track online impact. I use data to help clients make smarter decisions.
I use creativity.
I use writing, design, and multimedia to convey clear and elegant messages.
My specialty is tying the pieces together.
I organize people, tools, time, and information into systems that work. I assemble projects, cultivate collaborative environments, and get things done.
Some of my talents
- sitting idle
I find immense personal satisfaction in figuring out how to do more with less.
I keep projects clean and well-organized. It’s part of my work ethic.
I’m not good at sitting around and doing nothing. It’s just not my thing.
- adobe suite
I have a knack for writing, speaking, presenting, and producing great messages.
I rock Photoshop almost every day. I know all the best keyboard shortcuts.
I heart InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro. I don’t do Flash.
- project coordination
I do a lot of front end web work. I also play with Ruby and contribute on GitHub.
I mine Google Analytics and social media tracking tools to gain insight.
I put pieces together and simplify complex projects.
How I spend my time
- side projects
I take my work seriously, but I also really enjoy it. I tend to be less concerned with filling hours and more concerned with doing a good job and adding value to an organization. I find great satisfaction in producing results.
In my free time I juggle, I tend an urban porch garden, I do extreme sports (such as skydiving, white water kayaking, and snowboarding), I play cards, I run around outside, I dance like a fool, and I ride my bike everywhere.
I view learning as a life-long endeavor. I’m always looking to improve my knowledge and learn new skills, and I usually have my nose stuffed in a book. There’s enough info online to keep me occupied for several lifetimes, which is part of the reason why I love the web.
I always have new ideas and projects running in the background. When I encounter an interesting project, I carve out time for it. I like using my free time to explore new ideas and make meaningful contributions to my community.
Where I’ve lived
I’ve lived in many places throughout my life, and traveled to many more. Mouse over the timeline to see where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing over the past two and a half decades.
Things I like
I gravitate toward spaces that support innovation and give ideas room to grow. Good ideas move society forward.
I draw on diverse strengths to solve problems. Individuals can accomplish more when they work together.
I support open source solutions both in theory and in practice. Transparency creates trust; sharing builds community.
I’ve built my personal and professional success on a foundation of clear, honest, and open communication.
